Moldovan President Maja Sandu dissolved parliament and called early elections for July 11th.

This came shortly after the country's Constitutional Court overturned a state of emergency imposed by parliament to fight the pandemic but thwarted Sandu's intentions for new elections.

The pro-Western president accuses the parliamentary majority of obstructing necessary reforms and anti-corruption measures. Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon, the pro-Russian leader of the Socialist Party, has said he is ready for the election, although the country's current budget does not provide funding for their organization.
