In connection with today's party tribune of VMRO DPMNE on the work and activities of the diplomacy of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacts that today it is facing serious systemic deficiencies that are the result of long-term unprofessional work and the deeply partisan approach to running the institution at the time when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is managed by ministers from VMRO-DPMNE. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs in a press release that the Ministry will provide additional details to the public about the work of the house at the time when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was managed by VMRO DPMNE personnel.

With today's party tribune of VMRO DPMNE, we once again saw on the public stage the damage this party caused to diplomacy through the partisanization of the Ministry during the ministry of the persons from the tribune. In recent years, for the first time in the operation of the institution, the party conviction of the diplomats, which for decades the political parties have divided into ours and yours, is not important. In addition, during this recent period, the expertise and impartial work of diplomats and ambassadors were reduced to a lower level. During that period, confectioners and the like were sent to the embassies as the first people - with which it is difficult to build impartial and objective professional work of the diplomats, says the MFA.

From there, they emphasize that the former diplomat and trade union leader, Dabić, has completely abandoned the principles of diplomacy, and even more so, those of trade union association.

Acting strictly according to the party's ambitions, it not only damages the reputation of diplomacy, but also jeopardizes the employees' opportunities for real trade union representation. Since the beginning of the mandate of the current minister, employments, promotions and sending missions are carried out through internal announcements, in accordance with legal procedures, and these activities are carried out according to the merit system, respecting the principle of ethnic and gender distribution. Every employee had and has the opportunity, in addition to their daily responsibilities in the Ministry, to be involved in numerous working groups and projects for the past two and a half years, regardless of party, ethnic or any other divisions, which the employees themselves can testify to, say the MFA.

From there, they emphasize that the visit of the former ambassador Dabić today takes place only a few days after his retirement and not in a professional, objective debate, but at a party gathering, from which it is unlikely that an objective picture of North Macedonia's diplomacy will be obtained.

With this, he only confirmed that his actions as the chairman of one of the unions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were motivated only by party and political goals, and not by professional ones, and that the purpose of that action was not to improve the conditions for the employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but his personal promotion and selfish interest, as well as implementing the interests of the political party to which it obviously belongs, say the MFA.

At today's panel discussion on the topic "Alarming situations in Macedonian diplomacy", the ambassador and president of the Macedonian diplomatic union Zoran Dabić spoke about, as he said, "the scheme according to which individuals are promoted in the MFA without any legal basis and how they, as a union, deal with this negative phenomenon."

He emphasized that the last 7-8 years could be divided into two periods, that is, that in the first period massive employment of party cadres was carried out, and in the second period, promotion of the same cadres was carried out.

He also explained the scheme that is being abused for the rapid promotion of certain persons in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, although in diplomacy, just like in the military, there should be periods of the career in which a certain rank is acquired.

"The system is simple. You give the specific person you want to promote the position of national coordinator for an area and automatically because of the title he gets a title, a promotion and after three months that title is taken away from him and given to another so that the same system goes, and he at discretion he is given the second title. Discretion is something that should be done exceptionally, but it is used in this tied system of double promotions. And so you have situations in which literally in one year you get from low-ranking diplomats to middle-ranking diplomats, or other diplomats from middle-ranking to the highest-ranking diplomats, although in diplomacy, just like in the military, there are periods for each rank in the military or for each title, for three or four years you have to be a lieutenant, then a major, then a captain. This is just one of the ways that rule is circumvented", said Dabić.
