There are no new reports from our citizens who are in Israel and in the Middle East region for a possible evacuation, said today the head of the embassy, Bujar Osmani, and announced that today the MFA will also send a message of caution to our citizens there.

- At the moment we have no new requests. We are constantly monitoring the situation. This morning I had another conversation with our ambassador to Israel. There were some reports that Israel had attacked Iran during the night, but they have not been confirmed yet and that is why I did not inform you about that issue. However, this is the information from the morning conversation I had with our ambassador, but we have no request even through the SOS phone nor through our Embassy for evacuation, said Osmani to a journalist's question after the statement in the Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia, where he was part of the election activities as a presidential candidate.

Only one Macedonian citizen reported to the embassy in Israel and asked to be evacuated

He pointed out that today the USA has a recommendation to its citizens not to leave Tel Aviv and the main centers of Israel due to possible attacks. He announced that today our MFA will send a message of caution to our citizens there.

- During the day we will also inform our citizens even though we are constantly in communication with those who are there, says Osmani.

The US Embassy in Israel today told its employees and their families to limit their movements following reports that Israel had launched a retaliatory attack on targets in Iran.

After Iran's attacks on Israel on Saturday, a Crisis Staff was established in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose primary task is to organize the evacuation of Macedonian citizens from Israel and the wider Middle East, if necessary. At the beginning of the week, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that only one Macedonian citizen requested to be evacuated from Israel following the call addressed to our citizens who are currently in that country and the wider region of the Middle East.

It is estimated that around 50 Macedonian citizens are in Israel. The crisis headquarters does not have a specific number of Macedonian citizens who are in the surrounding countries, and the only way to get that is through their registration at our embassies. At the beginning of this week, Osmani recommended to our citizens who are in that region to report to the Embassy, to leave phone numbers, so that they can be contacted if the situation worsens.

In addition to the Embassy in Tel Aviv, the embassies in Cairo, Abu Dhabi and Qatar are available to our citizens. All citizens who are in the indicated region can get in touch with our Embassy in Tel Aviv on duty phone 972 549 267 378 as well as the SOS duty phones of the MFA 075 273 732 and 075 268 376 in order to prepare for a possible evacuation.
