The Russian influencer Veronika Loginova could face up to six years in prison for continuing to use the social network Instagram after Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin banned it earlier this year calling it "extremist".

Loginova revealed this on her profile, where 556.000 people follow her, explaining that in August, while she was in Paris, her mother called her and told her that the police knocked on the door of their home. As she pointed out, she was threatened with jail time, claiming that she was "attracting too much attention" and that her continued posting of content on Instagram could be considered a form of collaboration with an "extremist organization."

"Are you serious?" Me, an 18-year-old girl and a fashion blogger? An entrepreneur, owner of a clothing brand who pays taxes in her home country? A person who posts mental health support content and has never touched a political agenda on her profile?” Veronica said.

"You live, you take beautiful photos, you build a business, you help people, you don't offend anyone. But you live in Russia and among a million bloggers the police come to you," she added in a video she posted urging her followers to support her, saying she never imagined she would need lawyers at her age.

Otherwise, according to "Insider", this is the first case of an individual being "exiled" in Russia for using "Instagram", which together with "Facebook" has been banned in this country since March. Russia created its own equivalent of Instagram called Rosgram, but the original version seems to have continued to be popular. This isn't the first time influencers have protested being banned from Instagram.

Earlier this year, a Russian woman broke down in tears saying that this app is not only a source of her income, but much more than that.

"For me it is my whole life, it is my soul. It's the only thing I wake up with, fall asleep with, and it's been like that for five years in a row," she said and caused numerous negative comments.
