He is often mentioned as the pillar around which the former Vardar team was built, which in the 80s became one of the most successful and strongest teams in Yugoslavia.
But Ringov is not just a football player, his interesting stories are inspired by his restless spirit and his desire to make friends with different types of people, most of whom have nothing to do with sports.
In Myths and Facts, he talks about his career, but also about the inconveniences he had with Udba (the secret police), with various officials and clerks in the clubs he performed in, and reveals what is myth and what is fact regarding him, but also regarding the circumstances prevailing in Vardar at that time.
– I sat down at Teteks and made an agreement in five minutes. He calls for an apartment in Skopje, I remember the wonderful president, some veteran, a general, his name is Stojan Gorceski. You are a smart boy, I tell him I enrolled in Skopje University, we will hire you for an internship so that you can do well. What do I call you? They did it to other football players, but I signed a decision, they gave me a position as a knitwear officer – says Ringov.
He also reveals how he was brought to Vardar, when instead of entering into negotiations with the team's top brass, he was arrested at his home in Strumica and taken to Skopje to sign with the City Football Association, where he was registered as a new player for the red-and-blacks.
