Intense gas smell has been spreading for three days in the home of a family from the Skopje settlement Butel, and the source of the smell is unknown, because the house has no gas supply at all, Sitel reported.

Apart from the fact that it is unbearable to live in such conditions, Elena Mihajlovska says that she fears for her health and safety for herself and her daughter.

The smell is felt in several neighboring houses and spreads through the kitchens and toilets, and to prevent its spread, the citizens cover the pipes with wet towels, and the taps are constantly flowing. They asked for help from the authorities.

Although teams from all services have performed inspections, it remains unclear why and where the smell of gas comes from, but also whether and how dangerous it is for the health of citizens.

The Directorate for Protection and Rescue says that on two occasions they inspected the adjacent gas station and gas tanks, but found that there was no leakage there or from the manholes in the area.
