"I didn't know that I would have to take a picture in the space where the photo sessions are held. When we left I thought we were going to a chat room, suddenly when I entered the room I saw the two flags and I had to think about what to do. At that moment, one thought was that I could leave and then I would have caused a scandal, and the other thought was that the host established the rules and that the host, not me, is wrong and that what is better, I say to myself," says the president of the state, Gordana Siljanovska. Davkova about the case of not displaying the Macedonian flag at her meeting in Sofia with her Bulgarian colleague Rumen Radev.

According to Siljanovska Davkova, if she had left, the visit would not have happened and there would have been a new shadow on Macedonian-Bulgarian relations.

"At that moment, despite the fact that I do not know what is happening in my body, I decided that it is better not to make a scandal, so I did not make the scandal and the gaffe, but the host probably made an oversight or what did I expect?" I was expecting someone to tell me beforehand that there would be a recording so that I could answer," Siljanovska Davkova added.

In the afternoon, the newly appointed Bulgarian ambassador to the country, Zheljasko Radukov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to be handed a protest note after the case of the Macedonian flag not being displayed at the presidential meeting in Sofia. Radukov, as what confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, refused to receive the protest note.
