The President of the European Council, Charles Michel announced that the first ship of grain for Africa will leave Ukraine as part of the World Food Program.

He added that the ship will load grain in a Ukrainian port, after which it will head to Ethiopia.

The cooperation of all key actors is crucial to avoid food shortages and hunger around the world, Michel stressed.

The ship will take more than 23 million kilograms of grain from Ukraine to Ethiopia, which will be the first step to alleviate the food supply crisis caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
