The handball national team of Macedonia with a convincing defeat from Denmark (21:31) ended the performances at the European Championship. The handball players missed the chances for placement in the main round in the matches with Slovenia and Montenegro, and the defeat from Denmark was expected due to the problems faced by the Macedonian national team.

- We played for our souls, but we still lost by 10 goals. Although several players rested, Denmark is a strong team, their second, third lineup is as good as the first, so I think they are the main favorite of the European Championship. We lost to the best team - says Filip Mirkulovski.

According to the great fighter, pThe reasons for the three defeats in the EP can be found in injury problems as well as in the coronavirus.
- To be honest, we players had high expectations from this European Championship, until the coronavirus problems and injuries occurred. It all started with the injury of Dejan Manaskov, then Nikola Markovski and finally Kire Lazarov to be injured in one of the last trainings before the first match. Everything would be different if they were here. Then came the problems with covid-19. We were not able to achieve at least one victory at this European Championship, we saw that Montenegro is a strong team, today they beat Slovenia. If my health serves me, I will be present for the barrage - adds Mirkulovski who confirmed that this is his last season as a player.

- Definitely this is my last season as a player, then I will dedicate myself to my coaching career.
