The Group of Seven industrialized nations condemned Russia's occupation of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and called on Moscow to immediately return full control of the plant to Ukraine.

Ukrainian personnel operating the plant "must be able to perform their tasks without threats and pressure. It is Russia's continued control over the plant that threatens the region," the G7 foreign ministers said in a statement.

"In that context, we demand that Russia immediately return full control to its rightful sovereign owner, Ukraine, of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, as well as all nuclear facilities within Ukraine's internationally recognized borders, to ensure their safe and secure operations." said in the statement.
