Milososki: We need a new state coat of arms so that Macedonia does not remain in the company of Belarus, Tajikistan and Angola
There is no limit to whether it will happen in a month, three months, or nine months from today, but it concludes that it is good to discuss this topic and for the topic to be supported by objective arguments.
Macedonia should not remain in the same company as Belarus, Tajikistan and Angola, which are among the few countries that have Soviet symbolism on their state coat of arms, believes the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Antonio Milososki. He rejects the conclusions that the opening of the debate on changing the state coat of arms is a distraction from the economic crisis or that it is in function of the upcoming local elections.

-It is not related to any elections. If we are talking about modern state symbols based on a certain objective heraldry, then I really do not think that Macedonia should remain in the company of Belarus, Tajikistan and Angola. These are one of the rare countries in the world that have Soviet symbolism in terms of state coats of arms. I believe that Macedonia also has a good historical heritage that can connect both ASNOM and the Ilinden period and the previous periods of our common state and that this can be reflected in a modern state coat of arms that would be better and would reflect in a higher quality way the determinations of Macedonia and in that symbolism to be part of the European countries - said Milošoski when asked why a debate is being opened right now to change the state coat of arms.
According to Milososki, the initiative should open a dialogue to reach a common consensus within a certain period of time. He adds that there is no limit to whether this will happen in a month, three months or nine months from today, but concludes that it is good to discuss this topic and to support the topic with objective arguments.
