"I expect clashes on the occasion of the celebration of the 151st anniversary of the birth of Gotse Delchev in North Macedonia", he said today in a program "Morning" on BTV Milen Keremedchiev, former Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

"I expect clashes, because obviously certain political forces and their sympathizers go to this holiday with such a mood and such a preparation. On the other hand, as is known, VMRO-DPMNE is also preparing its sympathizers for quite serious clashes with barriers and blockades", he clarified.

Milen Keremedchiev also pointed out that at the same time Bulgaria is in a pre-election situation - two of the parties are doing their best to increase the results with anti-Macedonian speech. It is about the Revival of Kostadin Kostadinov and VMRO, of which he is co-president Angel Djambaski. Both of them provoked Macedonian national feelings at the memorial service for Mara Buneva last month in Skopje.

"One wants to return to the parliament, and the other wants to improve the results of the elections. That's why I think that provocation will definitely be required, and despite the efforts of the ministries of interior affairs on both sides of the border, there will certainly be provocations and clashes," said the former Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He stressed that the heads of the Ministry of Interior from Bulgaria and North Macedonia stated that they will not allow clashes, but "it would be more correct to say that they will try to prevent it", said Keramidchiev. According to him, there is no way to block the whole city or protect the entire route from the border to the place of celebrations, in the Church of St. Salvation.

"The visit of the Acting Minister of Internal Affairs and the Director of DANS to Skopje showed more that Bulgaria will make some sort of preliminary selection of those who will cross the border," said Milen Keremedchiev.

He assumes that the more aggressive and criminal persons will not be able to enter the territory of North Macedonia, but at the same time he emphasized that the Macedonian authorities will not try to stop him. MEP Angel Djambaski.
