Mitsotakis on Erdogan's statements: Some are bothered by a strong Greece
Addressing today's cabinet meeting, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that during his travels to the United States and Davos, the message was conveyed that "Greece is strong at every level: diplomatic, defense, economic, but now also energy."
"A strong Greece, of course, bothers some," Mitsotakis added, referring to Turkey and recent developments in Greek-Turkish relations.
He said that the more the neighbor threatens, "the more they are exposed" and "the more they challenge us, the more they are marginalized".
- We have said many times that geography wants us to be next to each other, but, unfortunately, they choose to stand against us, against international law, against Europe, against NATO. So, we have no reason to open a dialogue with the illegal, with the non-historical and finally with the deadlock. On the contrary, we are always open to any approach based on international law, but also on good neighborly relations. "But that does not mean that we will not defend our rights and obviously does not mean that we will not publish internationally, on all forums, everything that is unacceptable that is happening in our region in recent months," Mitsotakis said.
