The ZNAM party will announce on Monday whether it will support Prime Minister Mickoski in his decision to dissolve the Judicial Council and the Council of Public Prosecutors, and Vredi say that they will continue to monitor the development of the situation and engage constructively to ensure the governance of the right and restoring citizens' trust in the judiciary

From September, the government will deal more intensively with the pre-election promise to dissolve the Judicial Council and the Council of Public Prosecutors, which is part of the government's program 2024-2028, which together with VMRO-DPMNE should be fulfilled by the government partners Vredi and ZNAM. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski today asked domestic and foreign experts to submit suggestions on how to restore citizens' trust in the judicial authorities, which is now practically non-existent, with only two percent. If by the end of the month he does not receive proposals on what to do with the two councils, actions will be taken to dissolve them.

Speaking on this topic, Prime Minister Mickoski emphasized that they have an almost two-thirds majority in the Parliament.

– What is happening shows that changes are needed. They have only two percent of citizens' trust. Who makes decisions there, how decisions are made, why someone runs away, all this is another reason to finally start with the reforms in the court-prosecutor system and that is why we expect ideas by the end of this month, and further on we as the government will take measures and we are implementing the reforms for which the citizens voted for us - Mickoski said yesterday, answering a question about the escape of former KLA soldier Blerim Ramadani.

According Ramadan, Serbia is seeking extradition due to war crimes committed in Kosovo, and the Criminal Court allowed him to sit in house arrest instead of extradition detention, with relatives, because he has no address in Macedonia.

Mickoski added that the people are tired of feeling like second-class citizens in their country because a few criminals think they are above the law, and this is made possible by the judicial and prosecutorial councils, "because they are there thanks to those few political criminals and real criminals”.

- The system starts with those few, we all know who they are in the judiciary who are corrupt and it is not right to act blind for the sake of future generations to come. I am willing to talk to anyone who has any ideas. If only the eternal experts whose surnames then randomly appear as new members of the Judicial Council do not appear to me. I know the methods of such eternal experts, they brought us to these two percent - said Prime Minister Mickoski.

The latest scandal with the escaped Ramadani only adds to the bad image of the judicial authorities. The former high officials, now proven criminals, Supreme Judge Naqe Georgiev and the member of the Council of Public Prosecutors Ijet Memes they admitted that they took bribes to influence a case and made an agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office – the first to go to prison without a trial, and the second to not go to prison, but to receive only a suspended sentence!

I KNOW they still don't know their position on the Judicial Council

The president of the ZNAM party, Maksim Dimitrievski, when asked by the "Free Press" what is their position on the dissolution of the two councils, announced that they will say it officially on Monday, and the Minister of Justice Igor Filkov, who is from the ranks of this party, will present it.

Last month, Minister Filkov announced that there will be a wide debate in the public regarding the amendments to the law on the Judicial Council, which was prepared by a working group established by the Ministry of Justice, and which included the recommendations of the EU Evaluation Mission that scanned the situation last year. in the Judicial Council. Filkov then welcomed the statement of European Ambassador David Geer, who pointed out that the dissolution of the Judicial and Prosecutorial Council is interference in the judiciary and will cause serious concern, but it remains to be seen whether the announcement by Dimitrievski about the official party position of ZNAM on Monday means a change in this position.

Arben Fetai, the vice-prime minister for policies and good governance, who is from the "Worthy" coalition, commented on the scandal with Ijet Memeti on Facebook and said that there is a need for radical reforms, "so that there is no place for prosecutors of this type."

- Memeti agreed to a conditional prison sentence of one year and a ban on performing a profession, activity or duty of an official for a period of three years for the crime of receiving a reward for illegal influence. Memeti's deal with the Organized Crime and Corruption Prosecution Office, led by Islam Abazi, is shocking and the only good thing about it is that Memeti will not accept bribes for a while while his suspension lasts. DUI prosecutor Islam Abazi asked for a one-year suspended sentence for another DUI prosecutor, Ijet Memeti, who was caught accepting a 10.000 euro bribe to influence the reduction of the sentence of a politician accused of drug trafficking. That is why we are in a situation where only two percent of the citizens believe in the justice system. The prosecutor's office and the judiciary need radical reforms, vetting and a new beginning, where there will no longer be a place for prosecutors of this type, corrupt and under the influence of politics and drug cartels - said Vice Prime Minister Fetai.

Georgiev and Memeti admitted that they are bribe-takers

The Vredi Coalition, when asked by "Sloboden Pechat" whether they agree with the dissolution of the judicial and prosecutorial councils, said that any change should be in accordance with high standards of integrity and efficiency.

– The coalition is dedicated to strengthening the institutions of justice and preserving the integrity of the judicial system. We believe that any reform aimed at improving the justice system should be based on a complete and transparent analysis of the needs and challenges faced by this system. VLEN is committed to an open and inclusive process to ensure that any change in the structure of justice institutions is consistent with high standards of integrity and efficiency. We are committed to supporting reforms that contribute to strengthening the rule of law and improving citizens' trust in the judicial system. The VLEN coalition will continue to monitor the development of the situation and engage constructively to ensure that any reform is in the interest of the citizens and the justice system as a whole - say "Vredi".

JO yesterday informed that Ijet Memeti pleaded guilty to accepting bribes and agreed with OJOGOCC to be given a suspended sentence of one year in prison, which will not be carried out if he does not commit a new crime in the next three years, to resign from the Council of Prosecutors and to he was banned from practicing his profession for the next three years. Supreme Judge Naqe Georgiev, who was elected as a member of the Judicial Council last year, but resigned so that his son could be elected as a judge, is a suspect in the same case. OJOGOKK informs that Georgiev also asked for a settlement, and that is in progress, because he has been sentenced to a prison sentence of one to ten years, and the settlement will determine a prison sentence without a trial.

Criminal Court today accepted her the agreement sentenced Georgiev to three years in prison. He received a three-year ban on performing the activity and has to return 15.000 euros that he took as a bribe.

Ijet Memeti admitted that he took bribes and settled with the Prosecutor's Office - one year probation and resignation from the Council of Public Prosecutors
