American group Meta, which owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said it was banning Russian state media from accessing those platforms worldwide "to avoid foreign interference."
- After careful consideration, we have expanded our action against the Russian state media, the statement from Meta states.
The decision to ban was made after US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken last week condemned the destabilizing activities of the Russian media "Russia Today".
