Mejiti: While SDSM was in power, there were no initiatives for defenders

The draft law on defenders is one of the initiatives of the destructive opposition DUI, and in this case the abused SDSM, because the same SDSM fought for a civil concept until yesterday, assessed today the First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment Izet Majiti and added that they will not go where what the opposition wants to lead.

The government, as it said, will allocate a billion euros to solve specific real problems of all municipalities and all citizens in the country, and such issues will not be a priority for it, and it will also not allow us to go "wherever it wants the destructive opposition".

- In those eight years while they were in power, they did not have such initiatives for defenders. Until yesterday, they were fighting for a civil concept, they had Albanian voters, they have Albanians in their structures and high officials, so the dilemma is why they need this initiative of SDSM to escape into extreme nationalism. But this tendency will be like all other failed destabilization initiatives just to avoid responsibility, Mejetti said in response to a journalist's question at the Open Days of the InfoTech Academy.

Asked if VREDI will support the law on defenders, Majiti said that the government's focus is the fight against corruption.

- The focus of this Government is the fight against corruption, which is a cancer for this society. That fight will be uncompromising to restore trust in the judiciary, and the main focus will be economic development and the standard of citizens with a special reference to decentralization, emphasizes Majiti.
