Medvedev has an interesting comment on Yannick Sinner's suspension

World number one tennis player Yannick Sinclair has reached an agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and will be suspended for the next three months, returning just before the Rome Masters and Roland Garros.

A very interesting comment about the Italian's suspension was made last night by Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, after his defeat by Hamad Medvedovic in the semifinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Marseille.

– I hope that from now on everyone will be able to talk to WADA and if they say: “We found this for you, it will be two years (suspension), you will answer: “No, I want one month”. I hope that will be a precedent. Otherwise, it will be strange,” Medvedev said.

Recall that Sinner tested positive twice in March last year for the banned substance clostebol, but the International Tennis Integrity Unit cleared him of the charges. WADA appealed that decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Sinner was found to have a very small amount of clostebol, not enough to affect his game, and the contamination was allegedly caused by a massage cream.
