Medvedev through Oze-Aliasim for the second final of the US Open
The second seed, Danil Medvedev, is the first finalist of the US Open after he defeated the Canadian Felix Oze-Aliasim in the semifinal with 6: 4,7: 5,6: 2.
This will be Medvedev's third Grand Slam final, and he will play in New York for the second time. Two years ago he lost to Rafael Nadal in the battle for the title, and in his career he has another Grand Slam final, since February this year when he was defeated by Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open /
On the way to the final, Medvedev eliminated Richard Gasquet, Dominic Kepfer, Pablo Andujar, Daniel Evans, Botik van de Zandshulp and Felix Oze-Aliasim without major problems.
The start of the match against Oze-Aliasim brought a level game with a reliable service of both tennis players. Only in the seventh game, Medvedev managed to break the resistance of the Canadian and made a break for 4: 3, after which he routinely brought the set to the end.
In the second set, Oze-Aliasim played much better and in the sixth game made a break and took the lead with 2: 4. But, when with a result of 3: 5 he served for equalization in sets, Medvedev made a break with zero and then with another break took the lead with 2: 0 in sets.
In the third set, the young Canadian had no chance against the favorite who dominated the field and with a convincing 6: 2 came to a final triumph which meant a place in the final.
The opponent in the final of the Russian will be the better of the second semifinal duel which starts at one o'clock in the morning and in which Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev play.
