Danil Medvedev experienced an unpleasant surprise and was eliminated after a great battle with Hugo Umber in the semifinals of the ATP tournament in Dubai.

The Russian tennis player entered the match as a big favorite, but the cheerful Frenchman played an excellent match and had an answer for all Medvedev's attacks.

Umber won the first set with 7:5, and then in the early stage reached a break. Medvedev came back with a ribbreak, but the Russian tennis player then lost his own serve again and in the end the Frenchman won the second set with 6:3.

"I played a perfect match, maybe the best of my career." I feel great, I play full of confidence", said Umer after the victory.

Umber's opponent will be in the finals Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan who had previously advanced to the finals after Andrey Rublyov was disqualified.
