Musk changed his mind again, made a new offer to take over Twitter
The richest man in the world, the businessman Ilon Mask today he again submitted a proposal for taking over the controlling stake in the social network Twitter, at the price he had already offered once, reported world agencies.
Trading in Twitter shares was halted after the company's share price surged 22 percent on reports that Musk would go ahead with a purchase of the company. The takeover turned out to be controversial after the businessman first offered $44 billion for the company in May, then to withdraw from the contract, which is why Twitter and sued him and fight legal battles.
A trial to force Musk to buy Twitter is set to begin in a Delaware court on Oct. 17, but some analysts say it's possible today's offer is evidence that the billionaire has already been forced to buy the company.
