Martin and Banya in the race for the Moto GP world title
Francesco Bagnaia triumphed at the Malaysian Grand Prix in MotoGP Championship and thus postponed the promotion of the new champion until the last race of the season, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain.
Whether this is also a "pure victory" remains to be seen, as Jorge Martin, the driver of Pramak Ducati, who has 24 more points than the current champion and is a big favorite to win the championship title this season, finished in second place.
Martin had a better start to the race in "Sepang", but went too wide in the first corner, and Banjaya took advantage of that. Then there was an incident that looked serious when Jack Miller lost control of his bike and crashed head-on into Fabio Quartararo's bike, before they were both run over by Brand Binder.
It looked disastrous at first, but luckily neither driver was seriously injured. The red flag was shown, and the race continued only after 20 minutes.
In the continuation of the real fight between Bagnaia and Martin, they alternated several times in the lead, but the Italian quickly increased the advantage and it was clear that he was winning.
Ena Bastiagini finished third in Malaysia. With one race to the end of the season, Martin is in first place with 485 points, ahead of Banjaya with 461, while Marc Marquez is third with 369.
