Maricic: Judicial reforms recognized by the international community
Reports from the State Department, the European Commission, as well as Freedom House, GRECO and several other international organizations and bodies, show that judicial reform is yielding results in terms of the rule of law, said Justice Minister Bojan Maricic.
According to the Minister, the citizens' perception of the return to the rule of law is slowly changing.
- The judiciary is not something that changes overnight. There are years of accumulated problems and years of accumulated perceptions. If we follow the polls in the past period, we will see that we have an improvement in the judiciary. Trust is gradually returning. I am pleased that in practice we are showing tangible results that it can be different. If the trend continues that there is no selectivity in justice, the law applies to all equally, to bring everyone to justice, regardless of whether they are from this or the previous Government, the citizens will recognize and recognize that, said Maricic during the guest appearance on the show "Lens" on the National Service.
According to the Minister of Justice, the process of restoring citizens' trust in the judiciary is not an easy process, but the choice is simple. "Either we will have a rule of law in which the law will apply to everyone or we will have a protected class of politicians," Maricic added.
