Gjuvech is a traditional Macedonian dish with rich colors, flavors and aromas. The inevitable summer dish is equally loved by meat lovers and those who prefer vegetables, so it is an excellent choice for all tastes.
Casserole can be made in several ways – different ingredients can be combined, if desired it can be made without meat only in a vegetable version.
Ingredients:
– 1 cup of canned peas
– 100-150 g of rice
- 3 tomatoes
- 3 peppers
- 2 carrots
- 1 onion
– 1 eggplant
- 2 cloves of garlic
– 1 cube for vegetable soup
Preparation:
Pour the water (700 ml) into the sherpa and add one cube of soup. When it melts, remove the pot from the stove.
Place the tomatoes, peas, carrots, eggplant, peppers and chopped onions in the oiled bowl. Wash the vegetables beforehand. Add the washed rice as well as the spices and mix well. Pour over two-thirds of the vegetable broth.
Cover and bake at 220 degrees for about 35 minutes. Then remove the lid, if necessary add a little more water or broth, then reduce the temperature to 180 degrees and bake for another 10 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
If you want to make a sausage with meat, first stew or fry it a little, then add the vegetables and bake.
