The French presidency presented 21 new projects for foreign investment in the country worth over four billion euros, which, according to French media, the head of state Emmanuel Macron will be able to continue its policy of maintaining the image of France as an attractive investment destination three months before the presidential election, writes Reuters.

The government sees the new investment as a success of its reindustrialization policy, which is one of the themes of the election campaign.

According to a poll by the IFOP Institute published on January 4, 82% of French people believe that deindustrialisation is a threat to French identity. The most important of the announced projects is that of the American group Eastman, which specializes in the production of raw materials, which will invest 850 million euros in a plastic recycling plant. It will employ 350 people, and the location is yet to be determined. The company's CEO Marc Costa will be received at the Elysee Palace by the French president, informed sources said.

The new 21 projects will create more than 10.000 jobs, according to the Elysee Palace.

France was a leading destination for foreign investment in Europe in 2019 and 2020, according to the Ernst & Young (EY) barometer.
