Macron and Zelensky discussed the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

The French and Ukrainian presidents Emmanuel Macron and Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the situation related to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by phone.

The Elysee Palace confirmed that Macron and Zelensky spoke by phone and that the French president condemned Russia's illegal annexation of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia.

Macron points out that France is determined to help Ukraine restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also indicated that he was working with his European partners on new sanctions against Russia.

During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Macron and Zelensky stressed that it is urgently necessary to ensure the rotation of Ukrainian personnel who ensure the operation and security of this facility in the short term.
