Macedonian university karate representation led by the selector Boško Zaborski today in the morning managed to secure two finals in the elimination part, namely in the team fighting discipline for men and women.

The men's team consisting of David Petkov, Petar Spasenovski, Petar Zaborski, Gligor Petkov and Dimitar Ilievski managed to defeat the strong team of Turkey with a score of 3-2. Tomorrow the Macedonian team will fight for the gold medal in the final part, the opponent will be the Jordanian team.

Let's remember that the Macedonian university karate team at the European Universiade, which was held in Lodz, Poland in July of this year, was also in the finals and then won the gold medal. Now this generation of karatekas has the opportunity to win the world title in the discipline of team fighting and thus become the highest ranked team in the world.

The women's karate team today he also scored a victory in the semi-final fight, and was more successful than the Turkish team and won with a score of 1-0. In the final, our girls will meet the strong team of Croatia. They perform for the team Angela Mojsovska, Victoria Jovanovska, Maria Petrovska and Monika Pendarovska.

In the individual performances that took place in the first and second days of the competition, our athletes managed to secure four fights for the bronze medal that will be held on Friday, September 30.

Tomorrow (September 30) the following will compete for bronze medals in the individual competition:

1. David Petkov -67 kg

2. Angela Mojsovska – 68 kg

3. Victoria Jovanovska – 61 kg

4. Marija Petrovska -55 kg

1100 participants from 300 world universities from 50 countries have registered for the World University Games of Martial Sports held in Samsun, Turkey.
