The spinach is extremely healthy, but it is necessary to know all its characteristics, including those that are potentially dangerous for the body.

Spinach is considered a superfood and is very healthy. However, if you cook it, you will do yourself a disservice because you will "kill" most of its beneficial ingredients. That's why experts advise to eat spinach only in raw state.

If you want to use spinach in the healthiest way, it is best to chop it finely and add it to your smoothie in raw state.

When you eat raw spinach, you absorb more folate, vitamin C, niacin, riboflavin and calcium. Raw spinach is also easier to blend into smoothies because it is relatively tasteless. And of course, in its raw form it is packed with fiber and water.

Why is it not good to cook spinach?

Preparing spinach by cooking reduces the level of antioxidants in it, and when you combine it with yogurt or milk, a very important nutrient is released - lutein.

Cooking or frying spinach can destroy the lutein in it. Research shows that lutein benefits people with swollen blood vessels or coronary disease. It is also known as an eye vitamin because it protects against sun damage.

A spinach smoothie with yogurt or whole milk can be great for your health.

It has long been known that spinach is an extremely healthy food, but it is often associated with some negative facts from experts, such as the fact that it must not be heated or eaten in large quantities.

Of course, that doesn't mean you should never cook spinach again, but experts recommend eating it more often in its fresh, raw form.

Who should avoid spinach?

Spinach is one of the dark green leafy vegetables such as Swiss chard, lettuce, kale and parsley. These are foods that have a high nutritional value.

However, it is true that spinach also contains certain amounts of oxalic acid, which due to the high concentration of purine can cause problems in kidney patients, and should be avoided by people with gout, gallstones and arthritis.
