Macedonian poet Nikola Madzirov is a member of the international poetry jury

The poet Nikola Majirov is a member of the jury of the great international award for a book of poetry written or translated into English, "Griffin Poetry Prize", based in Toronto, Canada.

The 2022/2023 Best Book Prize is worth $100.000 and will be awarded to the author and translator at a ceremony at Toronto's Corner Hall next June.

The five shortlisted authors will each receive CAD 10.000 and participation in the ceremony, and an award for the best debut poetry book in Canada will be presented.

The other two members of the jury are American poet Natasha Tretheway, the 2012-2014 National American Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner, and Canadian poet Gregory Scofield.

In competition for the award are approximately six hundred books by authors from many countries. One of the prize's founders and SVP Golden Wreath winner Margaret Atwood, will say: “The 'Griffin Poetry Prize' has been affirming and encouraging poets for twenty-two years. Poetry is not a minor art form; she is the cauldron of human language.'
