The Ministry of Education and Science has adopted the curriculum for first graders, which will be implemented from September this year according to the planned reforms, for which training of teachers is also provided. The curricula for each subject have already been published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science, and in addition to teachers and parents can have insight into what their children will learn from September.

The upcoming generation of first graders is, in fact, part of the generation that will learn according to the new concept.

- The new curricula are interesting, we will see what it will look like in practice - says for "Free Press" Kiriv Velevski, parent of a child who will be a first grader from September.

According to Velevski, the most important part of the new concept is that students from an early age will have more practice than theory and memorization.

- We have seen all the topics that will be covered in the classes, and I like the most that the students in Macedonian language will finally have practical work from the first grade - adds Velevski.

What can be seen according to the topics is that the subjects Macedonian and mathematics will be taught for five hours a week, and in Macedonian the topics are divided into four points, namely - listening and speaking, then initial reading and writing, literature, expression and creation and more media literacy and media culture.

In mathematics, geometry, numbers and counting, number operations, measurement and data work will be studied. The subject of nature will study man and the human body, living beings. Topics such as "I am a child, I am a student, my home and my family, one hour a week" will be taught in society. Students will have two more hours per week of English, one hour of art and physical education - three hours per week.

The main idea is for the teacher to use various subjects during the lectures, as well as photographs, after which in a practical way he will explain different concepts to the students, after which the work of the lecturer will actually differ from the previous years.

"It is essential that the curricula will provide greater visibility of the integration, ie will enable the realization of related topics from different subjects during the same grade, in order to synthesize different perspectives on the subject wherever possible, through certain possible contents. and activities for their realization ", say from the Ministry of Education and Science.

According to the plan, the new concept should be applied in the first and fourth grade, but the curricula for these students have not been adopted yet. The Ministry of Education and Science says that the working groups in the Bureau for Development of Education continue to create curricula for other departments of primary education.
