With a concert by the National Institution Chamber Orchestra of Bitola and the soloist Nada Talevska-Spasovska, in the "Baldini" hall in Rome, yesterday evening, the cultural program was held within the framework of the traditional manifestation "Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius", informed the Ministry of Culture.

The concert of our artists, which was also attended by the members of the state-church delegation led by the president Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, was filled with Macedonian original songs, a mix of old town songs about Bitola, Byzantine songs and other works from the rich Macedonian original musical treasury.

Before the concert, those present in the hall were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Culture Onur Ali who spoke about the spiritual connection between the Vatican and our country established by the mission of the All-Slavic educators, the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, who connected the East and the West with their work and left a rich heritage for humanity.

It is written about Cyril and Methodius that they were centuries ahead of their time. Therefore, the honoring of their mission should be worthy, dignified and far-sighted. They did not create a letter, an alphabet, a word for divisions. They gave themselves to create a universal good. It is no coincidence that the Vatican declared them Patrons, Protectors of Europe, and their works of civilizational value, said Deputy Minister Ali.

He added that in the spirit of the mission of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, North Macedonia, through culture and art, the cultural heritage it possesses, the policies it leads for tolerance, dialogue on diversity, the development of interculturalism, creating conditions for the Europeanization of the cultural context , is ready to face the challenges of the new era and is rapidly approaching modern Europe.
