Macedonia again on the prestigious list: "Mato Napoletano" has the 16th best pizza in Europe, and the 81st in the world
On September 10, the election was held "50 Top Pizza" (50TopPizza), the 2024 guide to the best pizzerias in the world. The competition took place in the world capital of pizza, Naples, where the 100 best pizzerias in the world were crowned at the Mercadante Theater.
The Skopje restaurant and trattoria, "Mato Napoletano" is the only competitor from Macedonia, who has been on this prestigious list for several years in a row, that is, in the selection for the European continent and the world.
At the annual election in Naples for top 100 pizzerias in the world, "Mato Napoletano" won the title 81. best pizzeria in the world – which is a jump of 18 positions from last year, when they were ranked 99th in the world.
When they were in May this year named the 16th best pizzeria in Europe, as well as an award for the best beer service, the Mato Napoletano team said:
The year 2024 started off great, which, in addition to the high 16th position in the competition of European pizzerias, also brought us the Peroni award for 'best beer service' of the year in 2024 and placement on the most prestigious of all lists - the world's '50Top 100'
Timely, in interview for "Free Press", Zoran Vasiljevic, the co-owner of "Mato Napoletano" said among other things:
- We are very grateful for what we do and that in just one year we were nominated and ranked in the elite company of the top 50 pizzerias in Europe. The second year we were nominated and ranked in the top hundred in the world and we are the only pizzeria in the wider region that has that recognition.
