Macedonia has a second Olympian, Dejan Georgievski secured the norm for the Tokyo Olympics
Dejan Georgievski is the second Macedonian athlete to secure an Olympic norm for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.
At the European Qualifying Tournament for the Tokyo Olympics in Sofia, the best Macedonian taekwondo fighter in the over 87kg category defeated Olympic champion Radik Isayev of Azerbaijan and secured a place in the Tokyo Games.
Georgievski beat Isayev 13: 6 in the semifinals and secured a place in the final, and the battle for the gold medal brought him historic success, a place in the Tokyo Olympics to be held this summer.
Previously, Georgievski defeated the taekwondo fighter from BiH, Dinko Shegetin with 17: 9.
Dejan Georgievski became the second Macedonian athlete to obtain an Olympic visa, before him the wrestler Mogamedgadzi Nurov, and another Macedonian has a great chance to secure a norm. It is the karate player Emil Pavlov who should celebrate in his category at the Olympic qualifying tournament.
