We are promoting Britain as a preferred trade and investment partner of North Macedonia and we are promoting the Ministry of Guaranteeing UK Export Credits. Our focus is on infrastructure, energy, mining, sustainable development, health, security and defense - underlined Ambassador Lawson. Answering a journalist's question whether the political developments in the region can affect British investors, the British Ambassador emphasized that they absolutely do not reflect on businesses in Macedonia, which he divided for the good business climate.
The British trade representative for the Western Balkans, Martin Vickers, also spoke at the promotion, who emphasized the importance of the presence of the Johnson Matthey catalyst factory, which accounts for about 16 percent of Macedonia's GDP. Vickers said there is interest in new British investments in Macedonia, and his role will be to encourage future investors and reassure them of the country's positive business climate. Ryan Wellmans, executive director of Sopro, said that after coming to Macedonia in 2016, "they met amazing people and a work ethic, which they could hardly replicate anywhere else in the world."
