Lithuania is sending Ukraine a new package of military defense aid
The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania will provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid, which will include, among other armaments, short-range air defense systems.
"We have helped, are helping and will continue to help Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor. Lithuania will soon hand over much-needed short-range air defense systems to Ukraine as part of a coalition led by Germany, the United States and France to strengthen its air and missile defenses, of which Lithuania is a part. We will also deliver more equipment, systems and weapons needed daily on the battlefield. Our aid is an investment in our own security," said Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kasčunas.
The aid is expected to arrive in Ukraine before the end of this month.
In addition to this modern equipment, Lithuania will also provide older weapons from its army stockpile, including 14 M113 armored personnel carriers, short-range air defense systems, drone jamming systems and single silencers, transport vehicles, 20-ton telescopic loaders, spare parts, mobile loaders, guns, ammunition, smoke ammunition, weapon accessories and spare parts.
