A broad government without DUI should be the exit solution for the constitutional amendments to receive the support of the deputies of VMRO-DPMNE. The opposition responded expressly that they welcome the decision of DUI to go into opposition.

Will a broad government without DUI still be the exit solution for constitutional amendments? get the support of VMRO-DPMNE MPs is the dilemma that, after the leadership meeting between Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, with the announcement on Facebook that the integrationists are ready not to participate in Вthe lada only for the constitutional amendments to pass.

"DUI is ready to support a government without DUI until elections if the opposition supports the constitutional amendments and they come into force before the formation of that government. The European future of the citizens comes first!", Osmani wrote the position of DUI.

VMRO-DPMNE responded expressly that they welcome the decision of DUI to go into opposition.

"It remains for the DUI, except for the opposition, to agree on the delayed application of the changes until the period of Macedonia's entry into the EU," the party announced.

A chance for constitutional amendments?

Will this cause a new development and is there any chance that the constitutional amendments will still pass and to obtain a two-thirds majority in the Parliament, which also requires the votes of opposition MPs it will be clearer after VMRO-DPMNE is pronounced.

Kovachevski and Mickoski the face-to-face meeting rated herher differently. For Mickoski, she was unsuccessful, and Kovacevski in the meeting saw a change in the attitude of the opposition party, that is, that it is not against the inclusion of Bulgarians and other peoples in the constitution. However, Mickoski's condition is that the constitutional amendments come into force from the day when the ratification of Macedonia's accession protocol within the EU by the parliaments of 27 member states begins.

Mickoski said after the meeting that Kovacevski suggested that VMRO-DPMNE should enterе in the Government with five of the 10 departments with which segа led by SDSM as a condition to support the constitutional amendments. He repeated that he will not support constitutional changes under Bulgarian dictation.

"We discussed the proposals made by Kovacevski, of which I would single out one: he proposed within the framework of Пparliament to start and Yes a discussion was opened, with a two-thirds majority to approve the need to change the Constitution, and then to form a government, in which five of the ten portfolios managed by the SDSM should be given to VMRO-DPMNE, to complete the constitutional amendments, to the negotiation process should begin, and then chapters one, two, three, depending on the speed, should be closed, and that government should go to parliamentary elections. To this I replied that it is fine, I understand the offer and I have the following attitude about it: VMRO-DPMNE is ready to enter the Government with SDSM, but without the participation of DUI in it Government," he said Mickoski.

He then presentsover what he answered, that is that VMRO- DPMNE is ready to participate in the Government, but that the elections are organized by a technical Government, and that the constitutional amendments will be valid from the day when the ratification of the accession protocol of Macedonia by the parliaments begins on the 27 EU-members.

"He reports this as a violation of the negotiating framework. I then offered him to go to early parliamentary elections in the fall, to form a government with broad national unity where there will be no DUI and since no member state has nothing against the centuries-old Macedonian identity, tradition, culture, customs, the Macedonian language, then I am ready to talk to European prime ministers so that they vote for a stronger guarantee for what we are saying, so let's see if it is really as they say it is, and with considering that Bulgaria also has an elected Government. And let's come to say that Europe stands behind the centuries-old identity," he said Mickoski.

Regarding good neighborliness, Mickoski said that he demands the implementation of the decisions from Strasbourg concerning the Macedonians in Bulgaria.

"I would like to be a good neighbor to Bulgaria and from those 14 court cases in Strasbourg, Bulgaria would choose three and apply them. Let Bulgaria choose, not us. Of these six which are final, let him choose three. Then we will say it is good, there is a positive wind and people in Bulgaria will feel that someone from their home country is behind them. He did not accept it, because it is a change of negotiating framework. But we are looking for a package, care, and not a negotiation framework," Mickoski added.

Kovachevski: VMRO-DPMNE is not against constitutional amendments

Kovacevski, on the other hand, assessed that it is дthat the position expressed by the vice-president of VMRO-DPMNE, Timcho Mutsunski, has changed and is different from that what he heardл at a meetingand, and that is that VMRO-DPMNE is not against constitutional changes in the country.

"ТThis is the common conclusion and key message from this meeting. A clear distinction is made as to whether we will integrate the state into the EU or leave it isolated, which I think is good for the ongoing dialogue to continue and in the end to build a common position that it is best for the state to be integrated into the EU. My goal and commitment of the Government is to make this process of European integration successful, because we have in mind the strategic goals of the state". said Kovacevski.

He added that the constitutional amendments, that is, the inclusion of other parts of nations in the Preamble of the Constitution, are a step forward on this European path.

And the prime minister confirmed that he proposed to Mickoski together to approve the constitutional amendments, because, as he said, that is the real solution that the citizens expect from them.

"I made a proposal to Mickoski, if any." agree let's jointly and consensually approach the realization of this strategic goal and vote the constitutional amendments together. If we vote them all together, then I suggested that immediately after the voting we can go to the elections, and this is a position that I have stated publicly a few months ago. During the past period, I realized that it is important for them to be part of the government and to show that we, as a government, are not oriented towards obtaining political points only for ourselves and that we are not guided by our own party interest and that we are not focused only on the result of the next election. ПI ordered that we jointly vote for the opening of the Constitution by two-thirds and immediately tomorrow VMRO-DPMNE enter the Government, with SDSM vacating half of its seats for representatives of VMRO-DPMNE," he said Kovacevski.

That way a government which unites, that is, which would include all the parties that are in favor of the EU, says the Prime Minister.

"In that way, that government, which will include all the parties that are in favor of European integration, will implement the process of constitutional amendments, complete the ongoing screening process, close the process of constitutional amendments and open the chapters as the second phase from the negotiation process and may even close one or two of the chapters that are part of the second cluster and that same government will be able to organize the next elections. I proposed to her the constitutional amendments that will be adopted in their final and transitional provisions have a provision that applies at the moment of holding the second intergovernmental conference, which is scheduled without any delay",  he said Kovacevski.

According to him, everything else comes out of the negotiation framework.

"Mickoski believed that some parties should not have been part of the government, but we need a government that will be a broad unification of everyone, that will have a clear goal. It will be a government of unification, of European integration, and it will not be a government of isolation and destabilization, other scenarios can lead to other results in society", he thinks the Prime Minister.

Mickoski believes that there is no need for new leadership meetings and as he said from gymnastics in public, but still says that one hundredи available for further consultation. Mickoski considered that it would be good for DUI to withdraw from the Government on its own, but the statement was made before Osmani announced that the integratives are ready for such a step.

Kovachevski, on the other hand, in order to approve VMRO-DPMNE to vote for the constitutional amendments, announced that soon one of the largest member states of the EU (he did not reveal which one) will bring a resolution that the Macedonian language and culture is recognized and acknowledged. The Prime Minister believes that the communication should continue and that he believes in achieving the goal. In the name of compromise, Kovacevski left room to give up the prime minister's chair only for the constitutional amendments to pass and for the country to continue its path to the EU.

„Nand at the end of the day prime ministers are elected in the Assembly, It is important to me that we have a government which common will made the important decisions," said Kovacevski.
