European Union leaders will discuss "sabotage" of the Nord Stream gas pipeline at an upcoming summit in Prague, the president of the European Council said. Charles Michel.

The incidents are a "threat to the EU", Michel wrote on Twitter after the meeting with the Danish Prime Minister Matt Fredericksen in Brussels. "We are determined to secure our critical infrastructure," he wrote.

"Damage to pipelines is no accident and must be fully investigated," Frederiksen wrote on Twitter. The cracks are "a serious situation for Europe", she added.

European leaders from more than 40 countries have been invited to a gathering in Prague on Thursday, before the leaders of the European Union's 27 members meet for a summit on Friday.
