Lebanese media reported that during Israeli shelling today, a shell hit a suburb of a city in southern Lebanon.

As reported by the agencies, this comes a few hours after the temporary truce between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas was extended for two days. A spokesman for the Israeli army said it was "not currently aware of any such incident".

The National News Agency of Lebanon (NNA) and the Lebanese Al-Jadid TV reported that an Israeli shell damaged a neighborhood of the city of Aita al-Shaab this morning.

After weeks of fire between Israel and the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah, the fire was temporarily suspended on Friday when the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, a Hezbollah ally, and Israeli military forces reached a temporary truce in their conflict that erupted with a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7.

A spokesman for the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said they were investigating the information.
