The left also demands appanage for the workers

We inform the public that the MPs of the Political Party Left, as the only authentic Labor Party, which protects the interests of the workers, will submit to the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia a Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Employment and Insurance in Case of Unemployment, which will allow the ordinary worker to receive a monthly cash benefit during temporary unemployment under equal conditions as the so-called appanage, which belongs as a class privilege to the elected and appointed persons, ie. of public officials in the country, said the political party Left.

- We decided on such a step caused by yesterday's non-support by the MPs of the Draft-Law, submitted by the Left, for abolishing the appanage of the officials. Such action of, conditionally speaking, the largest political parties, is only a continuation of the status quo, and against the principle of social justice. In addition, their actions are non-state and are proof that for them the rights of ordinary workers for a dignified life are worthless and their only party commitment is direct protection of the capital and privileges of a small group of incompetent officials, said the Left.

They appealed to the workers and the trade unions to publicly and openly support this Bill.

- We believe that its submission is aimed at consistent compliance with the constitutional principle of prohibition of discrimination on the basis of property, social and social status, reads the end of the statement of the Left.
