For the Council of the Municipality of Ohrid, the citizens will be able to choose between 11 offered candidate lists, from all major parties and coalitions, including three lists of independent candidates, submitted by groups of citizens.

The specialist in internal medicine and current mayor Dr. Konstantin Georgieski will defend the colors of SDSM and the Coalition "The best for my municipality" in the local elections on November 17 for mayor of Ohrid. His opponent is the graduated dentist Dr. Kiril Pecakov from the ranks of the opposition VMRO-DPMNE. The candidate from TMRO, Goce Cvetkoski, will also run for the mayoral seat in these local elections.

- Ohrid is a kind of museum city, but also a city that lives and develops. Cultural treasures are of invaluable importance for tourism activity, as well as the opportunity for economic progress. The project "Urban Culture" is one of the leading projects of our program, which we will work on during the next period. This project refers to a series of infrastructural interventions, the goal of which is for the city to get a functional solution in the central city area - says the candidate Georgieski.

He points out that the starting point for the realization of this project is the reconstruction of the square "Chinar", together with the pedestrian street "Goce Delchev", which will soon get a completely new look and modern look.

The candidate for mayor from VMRO DPMNE and the coalition Pecakov says that the old city core and the surrounding settlements of Ohrid must be developed, but the urbanization must follow the positive legal regulations, ie be implemented in a way that will not jeopardize the protection of its architectural recognition and uniqueness recognized by UNESCO.

- All activities in the future must be carried out in accordance with the legislation, so that uncontrolled urbanization does not occur in the city. In the direction of proper urbanization, we guarantee changes, projects and victories. Before the people of Ohrid, we are committed to the reconstruction of the square "Krushevska Republika" and the reconstruction of the square "St. Clement of Ohrid". In addition, we have planned the reconstruction of the existing squares built at a time when the local government was led by VMRO-DPMNE. Unfortunately, these four years the government has left them neglected and unenlightened. From "the projects are in the final phase", so "the projects are ready" and "it has been applied for approval", now we see one big thing, the public areas must get a modern look, as befits Ohrid, as the main tourist center - he says Пецаков.

Cvetkovski, the TMRO candidate, attracted attention with his appearance on election TV programs with a T-shirt with a 16-pointed sun, while wearing a cloak with a flag with the sun of Vergina. Also, on his last televised appearance, Cvetkovski poured vegeta in front of his opponents, saying: "To swindle with the money you swallow."

- Solving communal and infrastructural problems, building the collector, fighting the urban mafia, Ohrid ecologically clean city, energy efficient… For that to happen, we must have sovereignty. My opponents are an extended arm of their leaders, and I do not depend on anyone and I will solve the problems of the citizens unburdened by anything. I will always be available for them and based on their needs, the local self-government will function - said Cvetkovski in his public appearance.

11 candidate lists have been submitted for the Council of the Municipality of Ohrid, namely from VMRO-DPMNE, led by Sasho Donev, from SDSM with Naume Jovanoski as incumbent, from Left - Violeta Avramoska, from DUI - Nefi Useini, from the coalition "Movement determined for change" with leader Aleksandar Stankoski, list of the party United Macedonia led by Vladimir Sukloski, from TMRO with Magdalena Naumoska, and from the movement Besa - Dzemal Mena. Three independent lists were also submitted: a group of voters led by Dimitar Veljanoski ("Ohrid above all"), a group of voters led by Antonio Naumoski and a group of voters led by Stevce Stevoski.
