Lazarov after the draw with Hungary: I'm proud of the players, let's just continue like this
The Macedonian national team drew with Hungary 27:27 (14:14) in the first round of the preliminary phase of the 2025 World Cup.

Kiril Lazarov's team was close to victory against the absolute favorites of this duel, entering the game with possession of the ball and a 27:26 advantage in the last 35 seconds, but they could not cope with the pressure of the Hungarians. Both proud and sad in the end can be the Macedonian handball fans, who once again, like in 2009 and 2018, filled the stands of the Arena in Varaždin.

Hungary is a great national team that participates in the Olympic Games, was close to a medal at the European Championship and that is why I am proud of my handball players and without the fans and the entire Macedonian people we would not have achieved this. Let's not expect anything, just continue like this and I think the result will come – said Lazarov.
