The selector and captain of the handball national team of Macedonia, Kiril Lazarov in an interview with Sportklub, said that his goal is to show that handball will be played in our country and that there will be good results in the future. That is why Lazarov accepted the double role in the national team, both as a coach and as a captain.

- I have been preparing for a coaching career for a long time. The national team is in a phase of transition, a change of generations. I have a lot of work ahead of me, the goal is to create that new generation for Macedonia to be peaceful for 10-15 years. The challenge is to try to make a quality product that will be heard in Europe and around the world. We do not have too much material, but we believe that we can do it like this - many wrote us off, saying that after my generation there will be no handball in Macedonia. We want to show everyone that they are not right - says Lazarov.

Lazarov believes that in the future Macedonia can fight for medals in major competitions.
- Yes, it will be competitive, of course we dream of a semifinal and a medal. It will be necessary for everything to go to bed, but if I did not believe in that, I would not have accepted the challenge at a time when everyone gave up and "buried" both the handball players and the national team - says Lazarov.
