Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today stated that the Russian embassy in Bulgaria cannot work normally, and that Moscow will respond to the expulsion of 70 Russian diplomats from Sofia.

"According to our assessment, according to the evaluation of the MFA, the embassy in Bulgaria cannot work normally at the moment. Of course, we will reciprocate our Bulgarian colleagues," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow.

On June 28, Bulgaria announced the expulsion of 70 employees of the Russian diplomatic mission, who were declared persona non grata in Sofia.
