Lavrov to the West: Stop interfering in Serbia's internal affairs

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that Russia condemns the interference of other, primarily Western, countries in "Serbia's internal political processes."

At a press conference after meeting with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric in Moscow, Lavrov said that the Serbian leadership and President Aleksandar Vucic have support from Russia in their efforts to prevent "destabilization of the situation in the country," reported "Policy".

He also said he insists on stopping such practices.

"President Vučić presented concrete facts about the gross interference of foreign states in the internal political processes in Serbia. We condemn this practice and insist that the principle of non-interference in internal affairs be firmly respected by everyone, and above all by our Western colleagues who have long been building their activities using so-called non-governmental funds, at the expense of American orders, up to state orders, in order to gain greater influence in their favor, ignoring the fundamental interests of the people of those countries," Lavrov said.

He added that he was satisfied with the conversation with Minister Djuric.
