The lioness Aketi from the Berlin Zoo is a new resident of the Skopje Zoo. The twelve-year-old lioness arrived in Skopje six days ago and is already adjusting to life in Skopje ZOO. In a few months, she will be accompanied by the lion that is to arrive from Sofia.

- We got the lioness thanks to the cooperation with the European Association of Zoos (EAZA). Aketi has adapted very well to the new residence and its zoo carers - say from Skopje ZOO.

Four emu baby birds arrived in Skopje and were named Teddy, Kim, Blanca and Willy by the staff.

- Babies are very curious and cheerful, so they always want to play with their pet caregivers. The Emu bird is native to Australia and is the second largest bird in the world, after the ostrich. The four emu will live in a kangaroo habitat or zoo area known as "Australia". This whole space will soon be renovated and built in Aboriginal style with the help of the donor "Podravka" - inform from Skopje ZOO.
