Kuleba: Ukraine's partners ready to support package of sanctions against Russia in case of invasion
Ukraine's international partners ready to join sanctions against Russia in case of a new invasion of the country, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, adding that the sanctions package includes three levels - political, economic and security.
"Signs of Russia's growing military activity along Ukraine's borders have reassured international partners, so in the last two weeks of talks on sanctions against Russia in the event of a new invasion, they have moved on to concrete activities to develop and implement them," Kuleba said.
Kuleba pointed out that Ukraine and its partners are now primarily working to make the military option as unprofitable as possible for Russia.
Kuleba also reminded that the third element of the Russian deterrence package is the systematic assistance of each country in strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine and its armed forces.
He vehemently rejected any idea of Ukraine refusing to join NATO in line with Russian demands.
- Only the Ukrainian people will decide where and how Ukraine will move and integrate. This is a matter of principle, he stressed.
