The old lady named Nancy "Joan" Gifford, who was born a few months after the end of World War I, celebrated her 104th birthday on Tuesday. What is interesting is that she spent her entire life under the same roof.

She recently made the decision to sell the house she moved into when she was just two years old.

Her family bought the three-bedroom property in 1921 for just £200, which is roughly £10.000 today (just under €11.400). A century later, this house is valued at £169.950 (€193.810).

Her son John (79) said that he had a wonderful childhood in Somerset, England, and that in that area everyone knew each other and were friends.

"When I was younger, there were a lot of families in this area and we all knew each other. The time we spent as children was fantastic, we walked in the fields, swam in the river, watched birds nesting – things that today's children don't do. "We were all poor, but we were happy," John concluded.

The real estate agent does not mention that this house was built in 1882 and that, with the exception of the kitchen and painted walls, everything is more or less in its original condition.

"This house holds many memories of Nancy and her family, but now, more than a century later, it's time for another family to create their own memories in it," says the agent.

Having grown up and gone to school in this area, Nancy met her late husband, Bert, on the village streets in the mid-XNUMXs.

The woman wants to sell this house because, for health reasons, she plans to move into a nursing home.
