"The crisis is also an opportunity to strengthen our energy architecture by investing in long-term energy security, availability and sustainability, the president said today Stevo Pendarovski at the official opening of the EVN Group Days.

Speaking about the crisis with energy availability, environmental sustainability and energy security, President Pendarovski assessed that as a small and open economy with high energy dependence, North Macedonia is vulnerable to these processes. According to Pendarovski, the Macedonian energy system does not generate enough electricity for its needs, and he cited the long-term low level of investment in energy capacities, the unstoppable growth in the demand for electricity in the digital age and the unsustainable energy habits of some citizens as reasons.

The President's Office informs that he conveyed the main points of the Government's plan for dealing with the crisis – urgent import of necessary resources, increase of domestic production and reduction of consumption.

"The only way to overcome these challenges is if we are all together, and cooperation with EVN Macedonia is important like never before. EVN Macedonia is a key link in the Macedonian energy system and is one of the largest investors, employers and taxpayers in North Macedonia," said Pendarovski at the corporate meeting.

In the address, the president emphasized the support that the company provides for the realization of several projects, such as the "Young Managers and Business Leaders" program and the charity action "Volunteering for a solidary society", as well as the support in the preparation of "MKD 2030" as strategic framework for the development of North Macedonia until the end of this decade, his cabinet announced.
