
Criminal charges filed against father of minor who drove car in which weapon was found
The Ministry of Interior informs that criminal charges have been filed for unauthorized possession of weapons against the father of the fifteen-year-old who was driving a car in which a weapon was found.

– On 23.01.2025 at around 19.10:16 in the village of Volkovo, police officers from the Illicit Trafficking Unit at the SVR Skopje stopped and conducted a control in a passenger vehicle "Audi" with Skopje license plates. It was determined that the vehicle was driven by a minor from Skopje, and five pistols were found in the vehicle, of which two were pneumatic and three were firearms, six frames and XNUMX bullets of different calibers. After checks were carried out, it was determined that his father D.N. possessed a license for one of the pistols, while he possessed the other two pistols without a license, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs.
After documenting the case and in coordination with the public prosecutor, criminal charges were filed against D.N. under Article 396 of the Criminal Code.
The Prosecutor's Office previously informed that the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje issued an order to conduct an investigative procedure against a 55-year-old man suspected of a crime - Unauthorized production, possession, brokerage and trading in weapons and explosives under Article 396, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
– The weapon was found in the car driven by the suspect's minor son. The child, who turned 15 this month, was stopped by police while driving in Volkovo in the evening of January 23, the JORSM said in a statement.
The public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the preliminary procedure judge of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje for the determination of precautionary measures for the suspected father - a ban on leaving the residence or place of residence, an obligation to occasionally report to a designated official, confiscation of the travel document, confiscation of the driver's license, but also a ban on his minor son, other minors or other unauthorized persons having access to a room or home where there are firearms.
