The Criminal Council from the Department for the Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption at the Basic Criminal Court Skopje, rejected the appeal as unfounded and confirmed the decision to determine the 30-day detention of Supreme Judge Nake Georgiev.

The court acted on the appeal of the defense of the suspect Georgiev against the decision of the judge of the previous procedure from May 21 of this year.

- Today, at the request of the suspect's defense, a public session was held at which, after the defense and the prosecutor's statement regarding the allegations in the proposal for determining the measure of detention, a decision was made by which the appeal of the defense is rejected as unfounded and the decision of the judge of the previous procedure is confirmed. with which a measure of detention is determined for him for a duration of 30 days, due to the existence of the grounds from art. 165 paragraph 1 t. 2 and 3 of the Criminal Code, according to the announcement from the Basic Criminal Court Skopje.

Against this decision, the parties have the right to appeal before the Skopje Court of Appeal.

A judge of a preliminary procedure at the Basic Criminal Court Skopje, acting on the proposal of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for prosecuting organized crime and corruption, on May 21 ordered Georgiev to be detained for 30 days, for whom there is reasonable suspicion of the crime of "receiving a reward" on illegal influence" from art. 359 of the Criminal Code.

- After hearing the suspect in the presence of his lawyer, as well as evaluating the facts and evidence submitted by the Public Prosecutor, he made a decision respecting the proposal, and the suspect is ordered to be detained for 30 days due to the existence of the grounds of art. 165 paragraph 1 point 2 and 3, that is, he can hinder the criminal procedure by influencing the witnesses, and circumstances that indicate that he will complete or repeat the crime, according to the statement from Krivichen.

Following the proposal of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for prosecuting organized crime and corruption, a judge of a preliminary procedure from the Basic Criminal Court of Skopje today determined precautionary measures for Idjet Memeti, the second suspect in the investigation related to receiving a reward for illegal influence in which the Supreme Judge is also involved. The suspect, according to the decision of the Criminal Court, has the obligation to appear in court occasionally, his travel and other documents for leaving the state border have been confiscated and there is a ban on issuing a new one.
