Christina Ricci opened to the childhood memory, in which Johnny Depp he explained to her "what homosexuality is".
The Yellowjackets actress was nine years old when she starred alongside Depp's then-girlfriend Winona Ryder in the 1990 romantic drama Mermaids.

"Something was going on on set and someone wasn't nice to someone else. And they said something like, 'Oh, well, he might be homophobic,'" Ritchie explained to Andy Cohen during a recent appearance on his SiriusXM radio show.

"And then I said, 'Well, I don't understand what that is,'" she continued. "I was in Winona's trailer at the time and she said, 'I don't know how to explain it to you.'
Afterwards, Winona phoned her then-boyfriend, Depp.
"So she put me on the phone to Johnny, and Johnny explained it to me," Ritchie recalled.
